Lowest we can finish now is seventh. Could finish 4th with a 16-0 win and a couple other results going our way..!
Great thread though. Brilliant.

If we finish 8th its down to one thing - too many draws.
Whats the betting on a draw tonight?

It will be because we weren't good enough in 2 of our last 3 games. In which case we probably don't deserve it.
Swansea on its own really does not matter for Europe.

Honestly not sure what you are saying.
The point was that a place is not taken away if EL winner has not already qualified. This year, at this point, it is all moot in terms of 8th because no one can finish 8th (other than Liverpool) without Liverpool having qualified already.

If we don't get in Europe its because we aint good enough fucking 4-1 to Swansea at home at this crucial point in season ....

Ham
The defeat to Swansea on the weekend means West Ham's slim Champions League hopes are mathematically over, but Europa League qualification is still very much in their own hands.
Winning both of their games would ensure at least a sixth-placed finish, thus guaranteeing Europa League football of some kind - either in the group stage or qualification round, and could lead to fifth, which would make sure of a group stage spot.
On the other hand, defeat in either of their final two fixtures leaves them in danger of finishing eighth, which would see them get no European football, or seventh, which would rely on United winning the FA Cup for them to get a Europa League qualifying place.
Best case scenario: Europa League group stage
Worst case scenario: No European football

Easy to say move on, I'll move on if we qualify for Europe, if not it's another massive let down. We've been in the driving seat all season and then go and fuck it up spectacularly with 3 games to go by getting thrashed at home by a bottom half reserve side with nothing to play for, CUNTS!

Most annoying thing about Saturday was the hit our GD took.
Beforehand we were +3 better off than S'ton, and now we're 1 goal worse off than them. As a result, whereas before a win and a draw would have most likely seen us finish above them, now it is most likely that we will need 2 wins.
Put another way, it's very possible that we'll miss out on Europa on GD.

They will be up for it no matter what. They're professional footballers and winners ffs.

Have people overlooked that a win for Man U tomorrow takes them above City and into the CL places.
It will be be really tough tomorrow as I expect them to be right up for it now, couldn't have had a worse set of results this weekend.
We may have blown Europe already and that's why I'm so pissed of about losing a game.

Predicted 7th or 8th in August so shouldn't be disappointed. But am, slightly. And will be doubly so if Manc Utd performance is as casual as v Swansea.
And, small point, wish Payet and Lanzini (in particular) would stop laughing at close misses. AS if it's all a jolly kickabout now. Get fucking serious.

Under no circumstances does 8th place qualify for Europe.
If Liverpool win the Europa League, they take part in next season's CL, and no extra league place is given for the Europa League.
